If you look at the Cman compared to the DeWalt, you'll notice a lot of the same components on both (like the motor, for example). I'm sure they're made by the same OEM, which I believe is Coleman Powermate. Both have good reviews, and I think they're comparable to just about any other oiled compressor on the market by the big box stores. Personally, I bought THIS ONE when Sears closed them out at the stores, and I think it's a step above the others.

I have the horizontal version. It has been running strong for 8 years, and I love it. I upgraded from an oil free compressor, the difference is night and day.

I also have the horizontal version of the craftsman for about 10 years and have no complaints. The oem on mine is devilbiss.

I bought the vertical version almost a year ago. Besides having to add a 20a outlet to my garage, I've had no problems at all. Very quiet!
