What do you guys think of the C-man pro sockets vs S-K, Proto, etc? I am not looking to spend the bucks for SO, but am looking for something better than the laser etched C-man regular sockets I have now.

Any opinions are appreciated.

No such thing that I know of. As far as quality goes I put S-K right up there just a hair under Snap-On. Just don't understand for such a great tool they arn't marketed harder. If they had S-K trucks I would buy off them. They have some of the best sockets made. The last thing I bought from S-K was a set of 1/4" drive metric and standard mid depth sockets. They are very nice and cost me anout 30 dollars per set through NAPA

Not aware of C-man pro sockets either. I don't have any SK sockets, but I would like some 1/4" semi-deep. The chrome looks great (I do have many SK wrenches and those babies shine). I like the C-man sockets with the laser etching and stamped sizes. For the price and convenience I don't care much if the chrome is dull or whatever. They do fine for me.

Do you have a link to the Craftsman Pro sockets you are referring to?

Although "pro sockets" is not a bad idea, frankly... I'd probably repurchase all my Cman sockets if they made an upscale pro socket with decent chrome.

You silly kids and your chrome fetishes, Ill admit i enjoy the deep luster of Chrome (My New Wright sets come to mind) but there is nothing wrong with the Craftsman sockets. Once you drop the first one or it flies across the room in a fit a rage you forget about the glimmer.

the pro ratchets have the same guts as the raised panel ones. the body is maybe a little lighter.
