Hey guys!

Does anyone happen to know around what year Craftsman Professional wrenches went from being manufactured/sold by SK to Danahar?

Same questions regarding the change from black handle Professional screwdrivers to the red/black handles.

And same question regarding basic Craftsman socket sets with the blue 1/4”, yellow 3/8” and green 1/2” labels. That happens to also be when they switched from G1 to G2 sockets I believe.

Don't know the year they changed, but I got my SK made set in 1996. I bought the larger sizes and SAE wrenches in 2008, and they were made by Armstrong. I bought most of these as singles, so the SK stock was gone by then. That's a wide range, but maybe it helps you a little.

I got my Armstrong made Combos in 09, also bought a set of Flare Nut Wrenches which, I have been told, were made by SK?

Don't know when the change was made for the Combos...

Those are extremely rare. The closest thing today would be the Williams Supercombos.

Yeah, the profile is very much like a supercombo. I have the full SAE set, never used.

SK manufactured for Craftsman from 1985 to 2004. Danaher manufactured for Craftsman from 1990 to 2008. There is overlap in manufacturing so not a set time when one ended an the other began.

Weren't there different versions of the SK/Craftsman 'k' code wrenches? I seem to remember reading that here some years ago...

According to this link provided, mine have what appears to be a K or an X, can't tell however, either one indicate SK:

X = SK Hand tools, post-Facom , ca. 2008 - 2009
K = SK division of Facom, ca. 1985 - 2004, could still be NOS

Yes, some are standard full polish SK style combos branded Craftsman, and some are a really cool full polish raised panel, similar to a Supercombo.

That's what I thought. Interesting that they both share the 'k' code

I have the standard high polish professional wrench set in metric as well as the long ones and they both have the same marking so.....
