Vintage Craftsman Radial Arm Saw (113.23100) has served me faithfully since buying it new in 1975. Still have all my fingers. The table and fence were showing their 50yrs, so decided to do a rehab. Decided to use 3/4 MDF as a base for the front table, fence, and rear table. For the front table, topped the MDF with 1/4" sacrificial layer of baltic birch. Realignment of the blade (10" Oshlun negative hook) with table and fence finished off the rehab. Found an original Craftsman plastic dust catcher to mount on the rear table to feed the DIY 5galx2 sawdust collector, should have that tomorrow. RAS should be good for another 50yrs.

I have a DeWalt. Still use it more than my chop saw. Yes, you do need to get a specialized blade for these.
