I had bought the one craftsman flex bent handle ratchet from this garagejournal board member. i had to figure out which it is better to suit for me to do ford 4.6, 5.4, 6.8 engine as for spark plug replacement...

i had to flip the ratchet head as just pop the pin out and hold the spring ball inside to put ratchet on it before pop the pin in.

it is work great as i had use it last morning on F-350 with 5.4L engine(horror 3 valves) but I had use the Terran cleaner to clean up the carbons out before i can break a loose the spark plugs...

so i just want show you what i did with mine...

Great to see it being put to good use!

yeah thank you ! i had not think about this before until i have this on my hand! it made me think about what if or which is better way to do...

i almost had it put in my home toolbox.. but now it is at my work toolbox.

it make a better clearance over the fuel injectors and wiring harness... even better to use it for exhaust manifold nuts on studs of cylinder head that mine are curve to make better clearance...

it made me a creative with a tool without ruin it... one lube tech thought i had it bent to make it work.. i told him "no, just flip it"...

****, why didn't I think of that? That would work great on Ford modular V8s as you mentioned. I am going to borrow your idea! Thanks for the information!

Nice work. Those ford engines are some of the stupidest designs in the world!!!

umm... umm.... i had said that comment first time when i started to work for Mercury and Lincoln dealership 7 years ago.... but it is keep me a job to work on it... it look like too much hassle but i has been do that for 7 years... i am still enjoying to do it.. i had admit that i do want smack the ford engine engineers for stupid phazers problems!!! i am rather to work on EGR emission as it is much easier than Phaszers that will cost more!! BUT problems is ford want change it to make meet the EPA Emission policy...

i had noticed that ford still made 4.6 and 5.4 engines for many years while chevy and chrysler had changed few times on engine designs...

i had not own a ford truck because i had not see a manual transmission on 4.6 engine so i dont buy it.

While we are smacking everybody, don't forget to smack the customer with all their demands.

"I don't want to see the engine, i dont want to hear the engine, make it powerful, make it light weight, make it handle, make it tow, make it fuel efficient. Oh! I don't like that blocky body style...make it more slender and sleek"

Yeah, you would not want to build what a customer wants.

It's all a compromise. Do they even really know what they want?

Most probably do not but that is what advertisers and marketing is for to influence that choice.

I have worked manufacturing, engineering, quality and maintenance in my life and have seen the issues from each's perspective. All think the other group is a bunch of idiots but sometimes each facet has different masters to serve.

The issue is if all these facets are in harmony and in sync, then half of us would be without a job because our job depends on correcting the other ones failures.
