The ratchet has Patent # 3208318 on the handle and I know it was made in the 60's a v series but I can't find out what rebuild kit it uses and I've asked around but nobody seems to know. Does anyone out there know anything?

A picture would really help out but the patent is for a quick release ratchet. My pic stash showed the RHFT with that number on it. If it's this one several brands offered it, so rebuild kits should be obtainable.

No the ratchet is pear head shaped .

OK, like these?

Those kits are harder to find, better off finding a "donor" ratchet to swap the guts out of. Known as the LLTD (long lever tear-drop) rats. Solid users, much better than the later figure-8 plate design.

Are you talking about a long 1/2 drive craftsman ratchet? Is there a small ball or possibly a hole on the top of the ratchet head (for oiling)?

There was a run of the long 1/2 drive craftsman ratchets that were unique and repair kits from a regular Craftsman 30 tooth ratchet will not fit it. I've never seen a repair kit for those ratchets.

Hey Jerry, I have one of these that was my Dad's. Did you ever have any luck finding a rebuild kit for this? (I haven't)
