Hey, I have been looking at picking up some kind of ratcheting wrench set and was at home and noticed my dad had a pretty much new set with VA stamps. The part numbers for the set are:

42633 5/16”
42634 3/8”
42635 7/16”
42636 1/2"
42637 9/16”
42638 5/8”
42647 11/16”
42639 3/4"

There is a metric version of this set as well that I was looking at as well.

Looking at Sears website I can find the individual wrenches but I have no idea what the part number for the entire set is.

Also, I know Sears is unfortunately moving the majority of production overseas these days so if I picked these up piecemeal from their website would I even get USA made wrenches?

I have pretty much a full set of craftsman USA tools (wrenches, sockets, breaker bars and ratchets) and it bums me out that pretty much none of it is made in the USA anymore

I checked out the sears near my parents house but they had mostly gearwrench and the full polish sets (which I don't really like)

Those were the heavy duty ratcheting ones, clearanced out 4 years ago or so. Those are way different than the newer guys, larger teeth with a lower overall tooth count. I have a set somewhere.

Any idea what the part number for the set is?

You can still order them individually on sears. I'm not sure if it would still be the VA code set though

Interesting, that looks like the full set minus the 5/16th and 8mm wrench in the 8 piece sets.

Using that info I did manage to find the part number of the set my dad has. It's 42444 (it looks like there are 2 version with slightly different storage cases).

With a guess it looks like 42445 is the metric 8 piece version.

Now if only I could get the specific part numbers that these three sets contain that would be perfect

I have both sets in a roll up pouch. I really would advise against getting them. They are pretty sorry. If you push on the side of the ratchet end it will skip and free wheel. So when you are pushing down on the wrench to loosen or tighten something it just skips and jams and acts a fool. I thought something was wrong with mine so I went to change them out and the ones I picked up off the shelf would do the same thing. I forked over good money for my sets and when I was in the store they was on sale and salesmen only wanted to offer me the sale price for trading on something else in store. Not his fault as I had no receipt so I just keep them as a set to toss in my bag for on site repairs. It's all gear wrench for me now as I just don't have the money for us ratcheting wrenches

Ya, I did some browsing on them and in general people seem to like them, but the GJ folks seem to really dislike them.

I was hoping to pick up some set of craftsman ratcheting wrenches before everything moved over seas, but I'm not sure how many options they have these days.
