I think I've gotten into my own head a bit. I regards to the last gen of raised panel ratchets USA made 44807 44808 and 44809. Earlier ones had a metal selector and then it was changed to plastic. I have always identified the two types by taking them apart and looking at the peg that goes threw the pawl. Solid = metal and split = plastic right? Is there a third type that is plastic but does not have the split? I recently picked up 6 of them and a few seem to be plastic but have the solid post. I guess I should break out the power scale to check, but thought I'd take it to the experts first.
