Stopped by my local sears this morning and saw this deal. 6 amp reciprocating saw on sale from $59.99 to 29.99. Not too bad of a deal

That looks a lot like a rebranded PC Tiger Saw. The mentions in the TSC thread where they are clearancing them is the older ones are a lot better.

Is 6 amps sufficient to do work efficiently? Seems that would be a lightweight saw.

Looks similar to the one I have had for 20+ years. 6 Amps. Never any issues for me. Just went through a PT 4x6 post basically 1 handed (weird position) no problem. Yes, it was a new blade.

The ones made 20+ years ago were built way better I'm sure. This one wouldn't last nowhere near that long depending on usage. If you used it once a year i could see it lasting 20 years. But for $29 not much to lose if it craps out. That's about the cost of one pizza with toppings these days:spit:

It also comes with a 1 year warranty. So 30 bucks for at least a year of use. Not the best but still thought it was a decent deal
