Craftsman roll-away box dimensions?

I'm looking to buy a 4 or 5 drawer Cman roll-away but I cannot figure out if I'll be able to take it home in my car.

I have a Ford Taurus, which can handle decent sized boxes via the back seat.

What do you guys think? Will I be able to get it home safely and easily?

typically 26"x18", it pretty much should fit in the trunk with bungee cord or even in the back seat, without box. Bring something to not scratch up the seats.

Just like Poor Owner said. 26" wide 18" deep. Height will vary depending on # of drawers and arangment. I don't think you will have to much of a problem getting it into your car.

Hey Stuey i don't know how Much you value your tools,But i think you could do better than this box. i've seen this box and if you asked me it's a waste of money. but it depends on your budget and how often you'll be using it.

Well, I know the dimensions of the box in general, but wasn't sure as to how it came assembled or whatnot. I remember some people saying they had to assemble their cman box, but maybe they just meant drawers and slides.

The cross sections is fine for the car, but I think that the height might make things difficult.

Hmm, Neal, this isn't their homeowner grade box; it's a BB box and the same or approximate quality as that of their grip-latch boxes. I've seen homeowner grade boxes fall apart, but I thought these are better. I have two top cabinets and an intermediate and they handle my abuse pretty well. Plus I have gift cards to Sears meaning the box would cost little or no out-of-pocket cash.

Any alternative suggestions would be appreciated as well.

The rollaways are fully assembled except for the casters which must be attached with either nuts or bolts (or both) and the the top chests are ready to go without any needed assembly. The boxes are smaller then the boxes; there is packing material (foam) to protect (hopefully) during shipment. I would always make a point of checking the box before taking it home; unfortunately, shipping damage is relatively common. This may save you a return trip for an exchange.
If you want the exact dimensions of a box, go to the website; pick your toolbox and click on the "specs" tab, all the info should be there.

it's going in your apartment right, I would suggest replacing the casters with some polyurethane wheels they are much easier on the floor than the hard plastic (real plastic with sharp edges) ones that they usually come with the cheaper c-man boxes. scratches your floor when you move it around.

but if it's already a rubbery plastic then that's ok for the floor, probably a phenolic material.

Eh, I don't care much about the floors. In the living room there's old industrial carpet, in the 2nd bedroom (aka, my shop) there's newer industrial carpeting that I keep clean, but can handle casters pretty well.

I think that I might forego a roll-away (yet again) and stick with a top box + intermediate + MDF platform with 4" casters.

I just have so much clutter - parts, tools, equipment, that it's hard finding a place for it all.

Wife lives in the 1st bedroom with me. The 2nd bedroom is being cleaned up a bit - I'm assembling a new computer in there for her.

Besides, I spend much more time in the apartment than she does, so it's almost okay. Once it's all cleaned up, I'll take photographs.
