I inherated my dads toolboxes and tools last year and would like to refurbish them. Top is a Huot middle 2 drawer non descript bottom is a craftsman roller. boxes are all built like a tank. Paint is really bad. Rust is all surface. Top box and middle slides are in good shape considering age. Craftsman has bearing like rollers that are worn.Shafts appear to be rivets and that is where the slop is. None of the boxes have any numbers that I have found yet. Need ideas on replacement shafts and bearings.

That roller probably is a bearing, just not an expensive one. If anything like the ones I've seen in other toolboxes, 1" OD.

Go to king bearing or the like, and find the cheapest 1" (Or matching) bearing you can as long as the center hole is something standard in a screw size. A screw with the head ground pretty flat should do as a shaft and just bolt it tight with a nut on the inside. You may need some thin narrow washers so the bearing does not rub.

Other than that looks like an elbow grease, prim adn paint job...

Are you sure the top is a Huot? Craftsman had a similar box in the late 50's. (Likely made by Huot)

Actually you are probably right on looking closer at the pic, that is an 11 drawer top, and the Craftsman was a 10.. Yours has one extra drawer in the top middle small drawers...
