Apparently they were made in the USA at one time? Saw a few sets at an ace today.

I have the non offset/non reversible style NOS that I picked up. Maybe 24 tooth action but okay.

They are in the 2007-08 C'man Catalog.
The raised panels never came in reverisble ratcheting version, only in one drrection flip over type.
The ratcheting RP's Came in 3 forms:
Std. ratcheing combo with std. open end on non-ratcheting side, came in double box end ratcheting meaning both ends had ratcheting mechanisms and a third offering which was a combo wrench with ratcheting on one end and that funky faux "ratcheting" open end on the other they called "Extreme Grip."

They **** compared to any brand's fine toothed ratcheting wrenches. They're bulky and the ratcheting action is extremely coarse.

I have the combos, and they're ok... I don't like how if you push on the mechanism it free-wheels. That may be an added feature, but i think it *****.

Don't recall ever seeing RPs with a ratchet ring. They had box (plate) type and the polished ones like that. Own both of those.
If it's ratcheting...course teeth ain't a big deal in my opinion. Not ideal but probably cheap enough to invalidate the inconvenience of repositioning. The box ratchet wrenches are almost always course and I have no problem with them but some guys don't like them; tough as a gorilla in a mech suit though when made right.

I have a set at work that I have had for close to 10 years or so, thinking 2005. They work pretty well although I really wish they were reversible.

I believe they do, as US-made Craftsman Industrial. I got some additional full-polish reversible ratcheting wrenches on a good sale late last year 'cause I like 'em so much. Yes, these are super -- definitely my go-to wrenches.

I have both the RP ratcheting and the polished USA reversible ratcheting.
No contest as far as quality, smoothness and versatility.
The RP are coarse feeling and I never use. I also like the Blackhawk reversible ratcheting wrenches which are the same as Husky (of which I have too).

Mine are USA, there are new ones that are not... Yeah they are top notch, I use pb blaster and soak the head/ use compressed air to clean and lube them every several months and I use them a lot. never broke one.

I've had the reversible ones for 12+ years and the are my favorite tool. They get into places no ratch ever could.

Maybe the new ones, A lot of Cman and Armstrong/ come from the APEX Tool Group in USA. That doesnt mean they are all the same though.
Anyways, mine say USA on it, that means its good, I hear China replicas are flowing in as we speak though.

Clearly you have never used ANY OTHER ratheting wrench cause the rp ones are garbage..hf wrenches are 10 times better..the us made reversible wrenches are real nice.

Those are not what the op is talking about those are the professional wrenches that are real nice the raosed panel are not polished and not reversible and have the uncomfortable raised panel and like 24 teeth. Dont waist your time or money on them the hf ratcheting wrenches are way better

I know they arent what he was talking about, they are much better and like 72 tooth, polished, and reversible, and made in USA. I dont think HF is better?

I was talking about the US made reversables. The ones in the pic above are what I have and they changed the way I work on my cars. I found myself using my sockets a lot less after I bought those.
These in the pictures have the best ratcheting mechanism for work performed per stroke. I have compared to Snap-on FD+ (Reversible), blue point reversible, long ratcheting straight box on one end ratcheting on the other Snap-on, Blackhawks, Carlyle, blue point non-reversible with open end, Snap-on non-reversible with open end, gear wrench non-reversible, gear wrench reversible, and maybe a few more. Also matco. The old sears chrome thin flat polished wrenches will work better in a tight spot and turn faster as the mechanism is more precise than any of the above listed. Most of the we're either directly compared of with some I took a fine point marker and drew the stroke of one click on a piece of paper to compare. Crazy, but I did it.
Probably not the strongest. The open ends have open on me with tight fasteners. The box end is the best. So now I use my other wrenches to break stuff free, never using these to break something free, but use them often to spin things off quickly. These are shorter than most of the other wrenches so they fit in places better than most, except my blue points which are reversible stubby flex for those really tight spots.
Can some one post a link to the industrial site because I need to get a backup set in case I break a ratcheting box end. These are very old and have been used a great deal, they were the first wrenches I ever bought, as I had access to my Dad's tools when I was younger.
I "warrantied" all my RP ratcheting wrenches I could find. Still have a 9/16" and a 3/4" that showed up after I did the rest. They were useless to me because of the aforementioned freewheeling action. The guy at sears told me that's just the way they are. I picked up the polished non offset/non reversibles instead. I also have the locking flex ones and have used the ones pictured, never had a problem with any of those styles.

When I stopped by the local store yesterday they were in the process of reconfiguring the entire tool section with a new reset... which suspiciously contained far less tools. Also, overheard one of the sales girls upstairs telling the other cashier with her that she really liked working in the tool section... because it was so quiet and nobody went down there.
They had the full polish reversible ratcheting wrenches separated as if for clearance, but still had their full price SKU labels affixed.
Maybe they are going to be reduced in the near future, it may be prudent to keep an eye on what your local store has in stock.

The reason you heard that is the sales people make commission and the cashiers don't. The sales people try and ring up the people they help to earn the commission. If they let the cashier ring it up they get nothing.
Lazy cashier love the tool section because the tool guys do all the work.
