I have learned that the Craftsman C-3 impact wrench is made the same manufacture as Rigid and Ryobie. Is this true? What about the rest of the Craftsman C-3 tools? In specific the 19.2 volt skill saw.Ken

Milwaukee too.

they're all made by TTI in China. Ridgid under license by Emerson Electric, and Craftsman under license by Sears Holdings.

Ryobi and Milwaukee are brands owned by TTI, Techtronic Industires of Hong Kong, and are not produced under license.

Sears has always used multiple manufacturers to fill their Craftsman lineups, I bet it applies to cordless as well.

The 19.2 V C3 and 12 V Nextec lines are definitely TTI. The 20 V Bolt-on is Black and Decker. Pretty sure that covers everything except the little cordless screwdrivers with the internal batteries.

Nextec is/was Chervon but I believe they do license battery patents from TTI.

There's been a few things that I haven't been able to find the TTI equivalent for, which makes me think there's more than one player. Things like their cordless inflator, the D-handle sander, LED flashlight, auto ratchet, the goofball flourescent light, etc.

Maker doesn't matter, the tools in practice are different mostly due to the seller. Sears is one year, Rigid is lifetime if registered, not sure on the rest.

I've got C3, it was cheapest at the time that would do what I needed, now I am kind of locked into buying a new battery every 18 months or so, but fairly painless, just wait for some tool to go on sale.

Starting fresh, very hard to pass up the Rigid deals.
