Craftsman screwdriver handle diameter

Obscure question here but, could someone measure the diameter at the smallest point on a hard craftsman screwdriver handle (preferably a stubby).

Background info: I'm looking to bore out the center of a handle to make a brush out of and need the handle to be at least 28mm in diameter for it to work.

Do you have a picture of the style handle you are talking about? Current production ones? Some of them vary in size depending on tip size.

Just something like this, or maybe one with a little bit of a longer handle if it means the diameter is larger. Really just looking for a ballpark number more than an exact figure. I would do it myself but I'm currently at college so I don't have access to all my tools.

I have a few misc ones of various vintages. No stubbies. The largest one I measured was .848" (21.58mm) min at the finger indent and that was on a current production 1/4" flat driver. You may find a little larger handle on the bigger drivers but I kinda doubt any but possibly the largest driver will be 28mm (1.100") min at the finger groove.

From the pics it looks like the stubbie version might have a less pronounced finger indent. Maybe someone will be able to measure it for you.

Used ruler, didn't have caliper handy:
Stubby #2 Phillips 26mm in the flute, 21mm in the finger groove.
Standard #2 Phillips is thinner.
Standard #3 Phillips and 1/4" flat are both 26mm in the flute.

Edit: 21mm at finger groove for the stubby.

Not exactly. The brush in question is a traditional style shaving brush (used to apply shaving cream the old fashion way).

The knot of the brush needs to fit and be glued inside of the handle.

I have a Craftsman bottle opener, P/N 41626. Mr. Mitutoyo says the handle end diameter is 1.013" or 25.73 mm.
