I couldn't find the thread, but we had a conversation about Craftsman acetate screwdriver handle keyrings here. Everyone wanted one, but they haven't been around for a while. I got sick of searching and made one. Took about 60 seconds. I guess if you can find a Snappy/Wiha/Klein handle you really like, you could make one with that, but I always thought the blue/red Craftsman handle was really attractive.

If you hit up bulk buckets at pawn shops or whatever for screwdrivers, you could get handles for 50 cents each or so. I wanted mine shiny and had some new drivers collecting dust, so that's what I used.

Things you'll need:
Craftsman screwdriver (1/8" flathead for red & blue or phillips for white & blue)
Eye screw (1 3/8" if using same handle as me)
Key ring
Vise
Pry bar
Socket

1. Stick the screwdriver through a socket slightly smaller than the handle.

2. Tighten screwdriver in vise, leaving about 1/2" between socket and vise jaws.

3. Put pry bar between vise jaws and socket, pry straight upward until blade comes out of screwdriver handle.

4. Screw eye screw into hole, add key ring.

I was going to include a picture of a factory-made one, but Google can't even find it. Must be even rarer than I thought.

The originals used a cotter pin press fitted into the handle.

Nice job on the replica. Glad I picked up a couple CM key rings several years ago. It's been one of my favorite key fob of choice representing old CM hand tool history despite what is happening to the brand.

Heres mine I used a plastic loop like thing instead of an eye screw, also a washer works well instead of a socket.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but you get the idea. [emoji51]
