Hey Folks,

I was at my local Sears today and noticed that these screwdrivers have a "PR" on the cushioned handle. Are these really manufactured for Sears by Pratt-Reed? Anyone have the skinny on these?

Short Answer Yes.

Pratt Reed does make Craftsman screwdrivers, along with Western Forge (WF).

the skinny = the lowdown, the dirt, the 411, the goods, the poop, the nitty-gritty, the inside dope...

Good post, I have about 20 Craftsman screwdrivers of all ages and had wondered what the WF and PR stood for.

I have two Craftsman screwdrivers that do not have the typical "WF" or "PR" marking. One is a 1/2" flat blade with no number and just an "F" mark. I have never seen another Craftsman 1/2" flat blade screwdriver. It is quite "butch" as we say in the Theater/Entertainment lighting industry. I suspect it may be made by Millers Falls due to its similarity to one posted by bmwpower last week. The other one is marked "Super-Tuff" and has G with a circle around it. Both screwdrivers are the typical Craftsman red, clear and blue.

I may conduct some research to determine which out of the four OEM types I have are the smelliest.;)

I've been known to go into the screwdriver drawer just to get a hit of that stink. Reminds of getting tools when I was a kid.
