Anybody had any experience with the Craftsman professional grade screwdrivers? For price comparison, I paid $15 for a Mac #2 Phillips and a Craftsman of the same size is about $9. I've had mixed results with regular Craftsman screwdrivers. Not any urgent need for me to get screwdrivers at the moment, but I would like the information.

I have a pretty substantial set of the professional Screwdrivers I like the feel of them and they seem very durable and for what I paid for almost all the sizes available it would have only got a little morethan basic set off a tool truck.

I got a 7? piece set I think a little over a year ago as a gift. I think they are great, especially for the price.

While I personally prefer teh Snap-On hard handles for comfort and ease of use, I have both the clear handle C'man and C'man Pro screwdrivers for home use and the Pro's work more than adequately.

In my opinion, if you want to drop the coin and have access to a Snap_on truck, then the choice is yours. If you do not get a weekly tool truck and you have a Sears within a reasonable driving distance , than the Pros will do just fine.

If used regularly or for a living, I always weigh warantee and ease of exchange into the equation because down time = lost money and/or productivity. If you have back-ups, then you are free to be a little more care-free with your purchases.

Cman Pros are great as well as Home Depot Husky pros.
Either one will serve you well; no need to get bent over by the tool truck man for a decent set of screw drivers.

Unfortunately, my experience has been very poor. The tips on two of mine practically disintegrated during regular use (i.e. I don't use them as punches). I recently replaced them under warranty and have not tried the replacements. So it's possible I got a bad batch. I also have a set of regular (clear handle) Craftsman screwdrivers that I have had for several years. I was never a huge fan of them, which is why I bought the Professionals, but my Professionals have been inferior to them.

Based upon recommendations here, I recently bought a Williams set and relegated the Professionals to the truck. So I'm not sure when I will be able to give the warranty replacements some exercise to see if I got a bad batch. But at this point, they've been a huge disappointment.
