Hello to all, i was wondering if anyone has bought the craftsman 299 piece socket set. i have heard that the sockets aren't stamped anymore just laser etched . so whats your option on this set.

I believe that they were etched only for a short time, and then Craftsman began "dual marking" them with both a stamp and the etching. It's been a couple years since I've seen "laser etched" sockets in the stores, they're all dual marked now.
That's a good set though, if you want everything.

I bought that set this December all my sockets were stamped, no laser etching and all USA .the only thing that was china was the box end ratchet wrenches. (Lobster claws)
Just thought about it mine might have been the 309 tool piece not just sockets. So it might be dif.

they are definitely stamped, and possibly dual marked.
