Seems like a good price for the McPherson strut spring compressors.

thanks, one store in my area has craftsman 90500 / 47057 for that price on the local ad, the rest are 34.97 which is the same as sears.com and showing hot buy. The stores nearest to me show no stock though and pull up the newest version 49289 for $54.

Was 14.97 last night, checked this morning and it was 13.47, so picked one up.

If I am ever motivated enough to replace my own struts, I am going to take it to a shop and have them swap the springs over !

That's great price if I can find one at local Sears. Thanks OP.

Last full set of struts I put on vehicle was around $500 or $600 IIRC so having the right tool and "buying right" when searching parts could make it well worth doing that job yourself.

I use the autozone rental program on tools like this from time to time. Unless you use this frequently, not sure it's worth buying (at the $35 I'm finding).

I have found that, figuring in the extra time and hassle, just replacing with a quick strut is just as cost effective.
