I'm on to my next repair, the table saw, it's in good condition considering that the owner messed around with it.

00c0c_4IXzq15Xzqu_600x450.jpg This is how I found it the motor was on the table so I assumed it belonged to it. My mistake.

IMG_2148.jpg I removed the table from the shell.

IMG_1787.jpg Someone cut a large hole in th skin of the shell. :eyecrazy::dunno:
Maybe someone can tell me if the skin had a hole and it's been enlarged?
IMG_9476.jpg The bolt is broken, I am going to remove it, and the only way would be practical is to dismantle the saw.

IMG_6897.jpg The stand for the saw, can someone tell me if this belongs with the saw????

I inherited the same saw from my wife's grandfather. The stand looks just like the one I have. He built a box around the stand to collect dust, and I'm guessing that a previous owner on yours cut that hole to collect dust.

The hole in the side is an owners mod.
The stand is correct and is a hard to find (and expensive) original Craftsman stand (very desirable for some collectors).

So I will bolt it down correctly and use it. As for the hole, I will have to live with it.

Walz - those saws are a dime a dozen in various shape and very easy to work on - the stand is a great find! It shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement body shell cheap if the rest of the saw is in poor condition . . .just a thought if the hole is a problem for you.

I'm going to use it as is, it's going to work in my shop. I'm not into painting it, if a side panel shows up ill use it.
