Hello all! ! Looked but can't find anywhere a source that lists of the dimensions of craftsman table saw tops. I have a Craftsman 113 series which uses a 20" inch W X 27" inch L table top. I would like to get another (cast iron if possible) table top to use for an extension. I have looked my area for some but they are not to be found. I know that Craftsman sold other table saws with the 27" inch long tops (with varying widths) and I believe the Craftsman 315 series saw has the 27" inch long top. The width is not so much of an issue since this will be used for an extension so the wider the better. I can't find out how long the Craftsman 103 series saw top is - does anyone know? Does anyone know of any other Craftsman, or any brand for that matter, that has a 27' inch long table top? Thanks in advance to all who offer help and advice!!!

Have you considered or do you have room for an outfeed table / support? Or are you looking for an attached surface you can run the fence onto. Because you won't find many beyond the 27" mark. Anything over half the width of a 48"W sheet just isn't strictly needed, you just flip the sheet around and cut the narrower portion off. (don't forget to factor in the kerf)

@rayra, a 20" table is not much. The blade will be offset by a couple of inches (or so) and that leaves 8 and 12" on each side. I can see why oldpops wants more. Typically one bolts on extensions which are 12" I believe (w/o looking). Another 20" CI top will need a lot of support whereas most extensions support themselves.

Me, I wouldn't want to have the extra blade cutout to deal with unless oldpops has an idea on how to attach a router. I did that by milling out the underside of an extension along with a recess for the router plate. Furthermore, getting a 2nd top requires dismantling an entire saw. There are lots of extensions on eBay but sometimes a whole saw is cheaper. I have also seen 2 complete saws bolted together which does make some sense.

I used a small table for about 20yrs. Early on I built a work table the same height to use as either outfeed or even side support, for cutting sheet goods.
Only recently did I get a bigger 'contractor' grade saw and I had to shim the legs of my big work table to again match the deck height.
If there's room at all for a rolling table, I strongly suggest making one as an adjunct to a table saw.

eta

There are several YouTube woodworkers who have built larger saw-cutting stations to encompass even smaller jobsite table saws. Some of the designs break down and fold, some are huge moving islands. And everything in between. They seem a natural choice / expansion for a woodworker.
Look at projects from Jay Bates, Bourbon Moth, Ron Paulk, they've all built a lot of custom workstations for their shops. Lots of ideas there.
Paulk sells blueprints, I paid for a set before 'stealing' is truss-box work table design and adapting it to my own purposes. It's a saw support, a big rolling work table, it's split longitudinally so I can take half of it to a different work site and set it up on sawhorses, I embedded a small router table in it.

/but I digress

I've used old saw table tops for extensions for years, they work great. Better to stay within the brand family to match mounting holes but you can always drill new ones too. I just search for cheap saws and use the top. Can find just the saw with no motor pretty cheap usually.

Where are you and do you have a picture of your existing extension? I have a spare one that I rarely use

Yeah, the weight being off/unbalanced can cause problems, including vibration. Of course, I'v been 'lopsided weight wise' the last few years (LOL)

I picked up an older Craftsman saw that had a bad motor for the arbor assembly to make a different type of saw and would let the remaining top and such go cheap but you don't list a location.

One thing that confuses me on these saws is the front and rear rails extend past the extensions, one by about a foot. And I don't see how they could be put together differently.

Located in southern California, near Corona. But I have kids who live in Huntington Beach CA if that helps.

There is a TS on CL now that has a motor but no mount. Even though I have that mount, that's not what you need. The motor is worth more than the 50 bucks asking price.

That may not be 27". I have that saw too, I'll check.

Edit: It appears to be only 20" length. I guess that's why I paid $20 for mine.

It's OK everybody! All of your help has been great. Since I currently have a saw table top that's 27" inches long, I was just looking for other models, brands and types so I can cast a wider net when I search (other than the Craftsman 113 & 315 series saws)

I will see if I can get an aproximate weight but it may be Saturday before I can get to it. Conditionwise it has a lot of small pits so it is not pristine by any means.

I don't have the capability to do pictures. How ever the serial no of the saw the top came off of is 113 27520 and the measurements of the top are the same as yours so it probably would work but I suspect even if I sold it cheap shipping cost from Michigan would kill it.
