Craftsman Tech & Vocational Student Discount Program

I apologize if this is old news, but it's the first time I've seen it. I think this is a great idea and I was actually a bit surprised to see it. It's unfortunate Sear's/Craftsman is finally beginning to listen to us and produce tools in the USA again, offer student discounts, and continue to improve on their existing tool line, but at the same time, are basically all but done for. Hopefully who ever is in corporate HQ making these decisions on the 3 topics mentioned above, sticks around if and when they are bought out by Husqvarna or who ever it may be. Maybe that person is reading GJ and sees us all complaining every week. If you are reading this STOP SELLING OTHER BRANDS ONLINE!!! Why is Sears selling Proto & SK tools?? DUhhh....

Sears has had a student discount for as long as I can remember. However, aside from the striking cap pry bars recently released, what mechanics tools are USA made now? Pliers & Screwdrivers? As for Sears selling other brands, they're just trying to be like Amazon with their Sears marketplace and make a buck. However, at the prices Sears sells other brands for, I doubt if they're selling very many.

The sun has sat on the US made Craftsman empire. I highly doubt they will ever return their core hardline to being US made.

Sears online is a different division, they are trying to compete with Amazon and not really pulling it off very well..
So they will sell anything that a vendor wants to put up there. Some can be deals and some are crazy price

I know these tools are still made in USA - ball pein and claw hammers, chisel & punch sets, 6 point ratchet wrenches, bolt extractors, adjustable wrenches, tongue and groove pliers, all large pliers and cutters, awls, screwdrivers, prybars, some hook and picks, crow bars I think, snap ring pliers, the lisle tool line up, plus more in forgetting.

Craftsman industrial offered student discounts in '01 when I was in tech school. It wasn't a great deal at the time as I think you only got 10% off. SO was very limited to the stated tool kit and box to what we got discounts on, but matco was 50% off almost anything. With a good sale, the store could beat any price te craftsman discount offered. A few guys got craftsman boxes as those prices the store couldn't beat. Most guys bought the SO set then loaded up on matco. Most guys already had plenty of craftsman tools that there was no interest in buying more.

How much is 10% of almost nothing and it probably doesn't apply to sale sets.
