Anyone know about what year this toolbox was from? Was it part of a set? This is something else I found in my dads shop. I remember this as a kid so it at least 42 years old. I have sooo many tools to go though! You kind folks are going to get tired of my posts!

That would be about when my dad would have bought this. I'm sure all the tools that originally came in it are in his shop. Wonder if we could get a list?

We won't likely get tired of them!

Your box has the Crown logo, which dates from 1958-1976, so at the very least, it's ~44 years old. It also has a plastic handle, which puts it in t he latter half of those dates.

There might be a manufacturer’s date code in the box. It’s usually stamped with the month and year. It might be faint. Maybe try looking inside the box on the bottom in the corners. This box was stamped “10 62.”

My box is a little different from the OP’s box. Mine has the two drawers. The OP’s box looks like a deep well style. Anyway, on my box I found the date stamp in the front left corner. So, if you have one like mine, face the box, open the top, look in the front left corner of the tray where you’d store tools.

Thanks, will try it.

Let us know if you find anything. My stamp was really faint. I had to use a scotch bright pad to remove surface rust/crud and a flashlight to initially see it.
