Do you know id sears still sells these, Did a google search, not coming up with nothing.
It's the top only, not the project center that the top is something like.

See, here is a nice one here, I don't think they make it any more.
I have the one from a few years ago,at Christmas I think, then were selling it for $100.00, and it came with a craftsman drill.
But it has the Big bottom bin like the one I linked to.
Its pretty flimsy too.
If I found the one like the craigslist link, I want to put it on my roller, I got from Lowes, when we were getting them for $35.00.
I got the top too.
want to put the rig next to my metal lathe.
I have the other one there right now, and I like the little compartments in the top for odds and ends I use often.

Found this thread.

Got me to thinking,
Maybe the plastic top can come off, and go on my $35.00 Lowes Roller.
I'll have to look into this.
I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with this tool cart. Normally I wouldn't be interested in anything Craftsman as it seems their quality has gone downhill but I have the opportunity to pick this up for $60 (or maybe haggle them down on the price) and am currently trying to outfit my garage with as much usable storage space as I can on the cheap.

Link to newer version sold at Sears: http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-drawer-homeowner-project-center/p-00940761000P

I was wondering:
- Is this even worth having or just too low quality?
- If the plastic top is removed is it open to the drawers or is there a metal top?
- Can the plastic bottom piece be removed and the casters still mount properly?

I already have an HF 4 drawer tool cart with an additional 4 drawers added and plan on getting the HF 44" roller box relatively soon, but hey, you can't have too much storage, right?

Any input is greatly appreciated

The plastic top is just for show, it can be removed and their should be a lip around the top to store another box of that same size on top of it. The plastic corners shouldnt have anything to do with mounting of the wheels.

2nrguy is correct about the top. Remove it and it looks like any c-man box with the same footprint. The lower casters are the same too. I think you can even remove and reinstall them without the "bumper".

$60 is all the money on any lower chest with that few drawers and a "cupboard". I can't stand them. Give me drawers. Your needs may vary from mine though.
