Any file cabinet Chicago/Comp X lock will work .See below pic for shape, What you also need to find is an L shaped bracket and spring .Those travel from the back of the lock mechanism to push the lock forward when the key is turned . The L shaped piece the lock and the rod that run front to back are tied together with a cotter pin. I'll have to see if I can find a blown up diagram/parts list

Hey gang, I've got one of these oval push locks on a 1960ish Kennedy box, and I'm trying to figure out if I can remove the cylinder without pulling the whole lock assembly out. Someone has taken the time to bend over the lock actuator to keep it in the open position, but I like to latch mine when I move it. (Currently working with drawers out, so easier) I've tried removing the screw, and tapping the left side of the lock barrel as shown in this picture. Is it possible its just the layers of paint that is holding it? Crud, just noticed the little ear in @alinc100 picture. Off to grab a right angle pick, see if its there.

I'm trying to avoid cutting the rivets out, but I fear that is a longer term solution. At 85# w drawers, I don't want to haul this to my local locksmith If I decide to rekey it.

Just as an FYI, the drawer lube (some old grease) had the consistency of not fresh pine sap, explaining the poor drawer behavior. Been soaking the slides in simple green, and wiped down the cabinet and drawer mounted slides. so about ready to test for fit. A few slides need bending back to straight also.
