They did not expect you to put alot of weight in a machinist chest so no slides.

But everyone I have looked at online pictures of all have slides on the drawers.
I have a Kennedy machinist box the same size that also has slides on the drawers.

Went to an estate sale this morning and found this awesome roller chest for $40 😀
I haven’t been able to find another one like it through a Google search. The Heritage logo is kind of a reverse from the normal logo. The letters are red and the background is blue. Has anyone ever seen one like this or have any info about what date range it could be? I looked on the backside of each logo to see if there was a date stamp but there was nothing there.

You found a very early heritage logo roller! You **** for that price! I want to say it is late 40’s? Very early 50’s?? Jocosawdust or rileysan are much more knowledgeable on these

I believe the blue logos are immediate post war. No definitive date on them that I’m aware of but they’re much more scarce than the usual predominately red ones. I’ve got a couple of socket set cases with the blue and missed out on a two piece blue badge stack. Nice find!!

Smoke: I was hopping to get a "you ****" just to validate a good buy! Thanks!

r_olson: Thanks

Self-suckage is strictly forbidden. You were a shoe-in for just such an honor but instead you get squat.

To quote Willy Wonka: "... you get NOTHING! YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY SIR!"

I don't think there is a violation here. He said hoping not self rewarding himself.

Come on "You’re killing me, Smalls" I didn't realize I was committing a violation. I will read the hand book tonight, too be sure not to commit any more violations!

DaveT- I think you are ok. Self suckage can’t be solicited in original post or be alluded to. However, I believe according to the bylaws of suckage, once another member bestowed suckage, you can validate your hunch.

I do believe your top tray is original

The violation was that you got a beautiful 1945-48 Heritage stack for a mere $40. FORTY DOLLARS! You ****!

Riley was just projecting his jealousy. Even though he was scoring a Craftsman stack Unicorn at nearly the same time! You **** with that deal, and everyone knows it!

It's really bugging me seeing that 1/4" drive ratchet in the 9/32" drive socket box!

Don't worry. The 1/4 drive stuff is just keeping the box warm until I get down to Twertsy's Tool Temple again. Then it will have the proper 9/32 set and I will repost for medicinal purposes. :)

Okay, I can't take it another second. You ****. There it is...and you truly do ****. I find old baby clothes and broken dishes at the majority of yard sales I go to.

Wait, when you are done will it look like this? I just realized I haven’t posted this on this thread yet. Yes the screen shot says $15.50, including shipping, it was under $25. The modern ratchet I think caused most folks to scroll right past it. Catalog snippet

Yep. That is precisely what it will look like, unless I find some unusually good luck as you have in the ad.

I remember that one. I already have one so did not bid on it. My tool hoarding issue has led me to avoid duplicates.

Very much understood. I was making low ball offers on a circle u 1/4 drive set on eBay yesterday because I already had one[emoji23] plus the seller was over charging on shipping so that did irritate me a bit

Made some progress on my 8 drawer crown top roller. Got it broke down and started to clean the cabinet and drawers, this paint was super dirty and looked a greenish tint because it was so dirty. Now to wax and remove the overspray and get the surface rust under control

I'm pretty excited. A few years back I got a screamer of a deal on this rolling toolbox top and bottom locally, $100cad. I've been watching casually for other similar vintage boxes and one popped up last week for $60cad so I jumped on it. We have really whacky box pricing up here and its not uncommon for people to ask a few hundred for stuff like this. The seller was happy I was into the vintage box and sounded relieved they got as much as they did from me so good deal.

Well guys, I have made some progress on the 10 drawer top chest. I have it all broke down and degreased, slides cleaned and now am starting on body work and some fabrication and fixing some old repairs as needed. You can see brazing repairs in the photos which is often times where the welds fail on these. I will clean it up as best as I can and repaint it and put it to work! I bought the paint color outlaw recommend and shot some on a metal scrap I had. I will compare it to the original paint behind the lock location. I had to remove the rivets in order to straighten the front header panel
