Craftsman top box year question

I've recently acquired this top box. I don't have the dimensions as it's still at my uncles. Does anyone know how old it is? Am I accurate in saying it's from the early 80's? It's heavy as hell too.

I have the same box. I bought it new for $299 in 1979. It is a good box.
