No, these are USA made by WF. So far, I think only Craftsman mini and the rebranded Knipex are imports.

Seems like decent dikes. However, any input on how WF pliers compare with those from Klein and Channellock?

Sweet...I love mine. My dad bought me some in a set 12 years ago and I have used them regularly ever since. Think I will buy two pairs.

Thanks!

So why such a price difference? Dikes from Channellock will set you back some $20 and Klein $30!

If I was to speculate, probably two things.

First of all, I imagine Sears probably moves more of their product in a given time frame than Channellock or Klien.

Secondly, I know for a fact that both Channellock in PA and Klein in Chicago are unionized and that adds a certain cost that must be passed on.

IMHO, the Western Forge stuff made for Sears has always been a good value. I am sure there is some that will argue Klein and Channellock will be better but I would bet it is more aesthetics than actual true quality issues.

At a professional level, I have wrenched for close to 30 years on aircraft using Craftsman pliers and never had issues that were from any lack of quality or durability.

I got a pair of those (well, the ones that are bent at a 5 or 10° angle) in a bucket of tools I bought. The very tip...probably 1/32nd of an inch was broke off so I took them back and got brand new ones. USA made, and work great!

Picked up two at kmart today. Kind of a hassle since kmart has gone downhill, but I finally got them. Both are USA made, one was in an older package, but both were marked WF for Western Forge.

***** they only offered the deal for pickup only. I spoke with an online customer service person who told me they were sold out online, funny how they are now in stock online hours after the sale.

I stayed in line for 10 minutes at layaway (the email you get says to go there). The girl there had no idea what I was talking about and sent me to customer service. The girl there had to get a manager to show up before they could find my order, so I waited there ten more minutes. The K-mart here is apparently a step below Wal-mart.
