Hello all,

I own Craftsman USA V^ combination wrenches and need 14mm & 16mm flare nut wrenches. I'd prefer to build on my Craftsman USA through new old stock (NOS) sets in original packaging but individual pieces and/or quality used OK. Searching Ebay & CL, I've found some Craftsman USA V^ mm sets that they're calling NOS but don't appear to be in original set packaging. They include the first 4 and/or all 5 of the following but don't appear to offer a 16mm-18mm. That said, I did find a Craftsman Professional USA flare nut wrench, 16mm X 18mm - Part # 42099.

9mm x 11mm - Part # 44175
10mm x 12mm - Part # 44176
13mm x 14mm - Part # 44177
15mm x 17mm - Part # 44178
19mm x 21mm - Part # 44179

Questions...
1) If there were actually Craftsman USA flare nut wrench mm & sae sets made, back in the day, what are the set #s?
2) Other than, Craftsman Professional USA, which Craftsman USA type and/or manufacturers code offers a 16mm flare nut wrench and what's the part #?
3) Re: Craftsman USA V^, am I correct to assume that since there's no part # gap between 15mm x 17mm - Part # 44178 and 19mm x 21mm - Part # 44179, that Craftsman USA V^ 16mm flare does not exist?

Here are the numbers for the raised panel sets:
SAE (4 pc) - 44565
Metric (5 pc) - 44566

The SAE set includes the following sizes:
3⁄8" x 7⁄16" - 44174
1⁄2" x 9⁄16" - 44171
5⁄8" x 11⁄16" - 44173
3⁄4" x 7⁄8" - 44172

The metric set includes the sizes you listed above. There is a 16 x 18mm flare nut wrench (44170), but it isn't a part of the set. As for Craftsman part numbers, I've noticed they aren't always logical. For example, SAE numbers aren't in order of size.

Here are the numbers for the Professional sets:
SAE (5 pc) - 42012
Metric (5 pc) - 42013

Note that the SAE set includes a 1/4" x 5/16" (42090) that is not available as a raised panel. On the other hand, the metric set is missing a 19mm x 21mm. To the best of my knowledge the Professional flare nut wrenches were made by SK. If you sought out the Craftsman Professional wrenches you could "fill in" the 19mm x 21mm with SK 8829.

Edit: Damn, too slow typing up my reply... there is some redundant information in my post.

16mm - 18mm - 44170
19mm - 21mm - 44179
So, it (16mm - 18mm - 44170) DOES exist and pics to prove it.
Yes, very helpful, Thanks!

Craftsman part numbers, not always logical, indeed! :headscrat:
Appreciate the set #'s and you, "filling in the holes", for me. Looks like the Professional Metric (5 pc) - 42013 has both sizes that I need.

Wondering, does anyone know, if there are any long versions, of Craftsman USA flare nut wrenches, in 14mm and/or 16mm?

I’m looking for the SAE version of the professional flare but wrenches in the black (blue?) blow mold case. I don’t like the current (China?) wrenches with the offset. Anyone know where I can find those?
I'm looking at the Professional Metric (5 pc) - 42013 set on ebay...Not new and looks a little beat up but I believe, the same seller also has the Professional SAE (5 pc) set - 42012, for sale, here.

Wasn't sure where to post this, so thought I might as well resurrect this old Cman USA thread . . .

After noticing this pic on the Sears website; of which looks surely to be S-K flare nut wrenches without the 'S-K'. I've read that S-K used to make the Cman professional tools, or some of them, but is S-K still doing so?

As usual, Sears details are practically non-existent  ; no other pics; no specification as to where they are manufactured; no country of origin; not even a pic as to whether or not 'Craftsman' is also/or currently engraved on the wrenches; no way to know if the wrenches in the (one) pic....are the wrenches that actually get shipped.

Anyone want to be the Guinea pig? :)
