I've used both extensively. Proto slip less. I round out a tenth of the bolts now that I use Proto than I used to when I used Craftsman.

Proto is undoubtedly better. They ought to be, for the price difference!

Just my opinion; I have both Snap-on and Proto sockets. Except for 1/4" drive, I prefer the Proto to the Snap-on. I see no strength or durability or usability difference between them, Proto is equal to Snap-on. Both are infinitely superior to Craftsman in both durability and in fit/not slipping. I think the Craftsman "stretch" and allow the bolt to slip.

Not even close.....Proto is a real deal high end tool......Craftsman VV old school is Easco, new school is Danaher, neither are anything close to a real deal high end tool.
