Can anyone tell me about Craftsman -V-? I have a wrench that is of that series. Thanks.

There is some good info in this thread: Craftsman =V= Series

The title may have the "double line" =V= but the discussion gets into the "single line" -V- series as well. Edit: Removed part of post because jakemac's reply is more clarifying.

I had v wrenches. They are nothing special. Open ends are sloppy and prone to spreading. My guess is, any modern import wrenches are better. Best wrenches craftsman ever offered were the full polished long pattern made by the old SK.

Craftsman tools were good in their day, but that day is now passed.

My original 'V' combination wrenches that I purchased new in the early 1980s were that way - I warrantied the 7/16", 1/2", and 9/16" more than once over the years because the open end spread out. The other sizes I still have and use.

The Husky metric combination wrench set that I got at Home Depot on clearance about 15 years ago, those wrenches are still going strong and I haven't spread any of the open ends yet. So I concur with the above.
