I see these "vintager craftsman v" ratchets advertised alot and I would like to buy a few vintage ratchets, but just ewondering
I am in australia and we dont have the american craftsman brand so i have never tried te ratchet so just got a few questions.

1: Are they a good ratchet
2: Are they coarse or fine tooth
3: Do you like them,
that about covers it

I like them, but if you can, get the pear head with the grease fitting or similar. They are roughly a 30 tooth ratchet but run really smooth. In my opinion better than the new line out.

If you're looking for a vintage V-ratchet to use, you might want to look for a Crafty round head fine tooth (RHFT) model. They look similar to the pear head models but are much finer and smoother. I personally think the RHFT ratchets were the finest ratchets ever sold by Sears. I can probably supply you with a photo and several model numbers for the 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive models. I think there were a few flex head models and long handle models too. But, I don't have anything on hand at the moment to show you.

Would I recommend these ratchets? Yes, without reservation.

I forgot to mention... women go for guys who own RHFT ratchets. These ratchet also make women real frisky, if you get my drift.

I have two 1/4" rachet sets in plastic caase that are of the "V" around someplace and a 3/8" , 1/2" also with "V" and grease fitting pair heads. They are nice ratchets as long as you take good care of them like I do. I even wrap all my drills in there own OR rag.

Thanks, JASTECH
