My Craftsman V60 string trimmer (model CMCST960) head assembly just came off during use. I removed this plate, which is held in by 4 hex screws, and beneath it there is a hole in the aluminum shaft. I presume this is what kept the head assembly connected to the shaft, but there is nothing loose (e.g something broken off).inside the trimmer as far as I can tell. Does anyone else have one of these and if so, would you be willing to take this plastic plate off so I can see what I'm missing? My backup plan is to just drill a hole straight through the aluminum shaft and plastic plate and secure it with a bolt.
