That would be considered a light-duty vise for sure. If that's what you are looking for, I think it's probably worth $15-20 for your own personal use (vs. looking for a deal to resell).

But it's not made to hold heavy stuff or to take any sort of big force.

Personally, I'd hold off for something beefier. You won't regret it.

Looks like part of the jaw tower was ground off. I'm sure one of the members could hook you up with a vise 3 times better for maybe double the price.

Yes I agree with the earlier post. Buy an old 'Amarican' Vise like a Reed, Wilton, Prentiss, Athol, etc. You will be glad you did. I would recommend at least a 4" wide jaw.

Some of the older craftsman models were made by Reed and Columbian and are very well made.

That looks a lot like a Columbian I have. Pretty decent vise, though it is relatively light duty as others have mentioned.

Look for a Columbian 504 or 604 to pop up. They were mass produced and tend to go a lot cheaper than the other vises around here.

Expect to pay $60-$70 shipped on ebay for a rusted one (they are fun to refinish) or around $100 turnkey.

Vises aren't cheap and sometimes you luck into a really good cheap one but if you can't wait just bite the bullet.
