I picked up a C-man vise at the junkyard a couple week's ago, Part # 5169(found the main body of the vise first, then a week later the moving jaw).

I originally thought it was the same vise I already had and could use it for parts, but when I got them both out the other day, I found I had a 4" to go with my 3.5" model #5176.

The #5169 is missing only the handle/forcing screw assembly. Anyone know where to find one? If I had a lathe it would be doable to make one I'm sure. If nothing else I might sell it for part's, if I cant find a forcing screw.

I have the same vise, #5169, which i thought was a deal at a yard sale but its starting to look like a parts vise, (damaged Craftsman badge, missing 1 jaw insert, other insert broken, bad dynamic jaw). The angle of the front jaw puts the whole thing in a bind when opening and its not possible to fix without some serious modifications to the castings. I think it would have to be bored out and then have an insert made to fix the problem.

I would be interested in buying the moving jaw of the 5169, or the whole thing if you make it a fair price since i need most of the parts you have.

Does the screw from the 3-1/2" happen to fit the 4"?

If not, what thread is in the body of the 4"? An acme screw can be ordered as thread stock, and a coupler nut welded on as the head, drill a hole and you are in business.
