I found this wrench with the flex socket on the other end. I was wondering if this would have been something from WWII or is it more modern?

I saw stuff on ebay reference V-42543 but not vv.

VV is newer than V, and =V= is older than V. You can do a search for the different letters and their approximate age ranges. More modern than WWII.

IIRC, the open/socket wrenches were available in the late 40's-early 50's thru the mid-late 80's. Hardest part in trying to assemble a set is nobody is sure what to call them.

Sorta like the flex head sockets, or swivel head sockets. People call them all kinds of things.
