I took a couple tools into my nearest sears store today. I showed them to the gal at the front desk and she told me to go find the tool replacements and bring them to her. I went around the store and found everything except this socket wrench. I asked the gal about this and she asked another guy that worked there. He told me that they didn't have these anymore and haven't made these since the 50's. I asked them what there policy was on tool they don't make anymore and he said nothing. Just seeing if anyone else has had an experience like this?

When Sears no longer makes a tool you get all kinds of different solutions. One is you get something similar which usually makes them happy. They can call Craftsman and get the last know price for that tool and give you a store credit. They can find the tool made by another brand even something they don’t sell and give that amount. They will look at someplace like Home Depot. At my Sears a wrench is a wrench and they just ask you get something similar in size.

Depending on what store you go to - I go to one where they know me pretty well - they let me pick out what I want that has a similar estimated cost by a manager. Never been disappointed.
