I recently picked up this pair of Craftsman tool boxes for a song. Unfortunately, the song had a sour note once I found that one of the slides was broken.
From what I can tell from a few previous posts here, the upper box is a 9 HT 65103N and the lower box is a 9 HT 65036N. However, searching the intarwebs for those part numbers and various variations on them, I've been unable to find any literature, parts diagrams, or anything. The upper box is stamped "9 91", and the lower is stamped "3 92". One post indicates these are supposed to have an unconditional warranty, but again, I can't verify that.
I've pulled the slides out for cleaning. Whoever had it before must believe that blindly pointing a spray can of white lithium grease at it and pulling the trigger was the appropriate method. Instead, it's a nice sticky mess that makes the slides very stiff. I'll run these through the parts washer as soon as I pick up some fresh solvent this weekend.
From what I understand, most of the parts are no longer available. I poked around on the Sears Direct Parts website, but there's 7728 parts for toolboxes, 95% have no images, and I don't have a part number. All I can tell is these slides were made by Accuride, but they have no part number.
There appear to be three different variations of the slides. Two pair are for the large bottom drawers. The other 12 appear to be the same, except for 6 have an extra hole. I didn't notice that before I pulled them off, but I'm assuming the hole indicates it's a left or right side slide, although I haven't verified that yet.
Maybe someone here has some part numbers, proof this has an unconditional warranty, literature, or has salvaged some slides from other tool boxes?
