Craftsman Workbench Drawers Mod

So I've done some exhaustive research and am about to throw in the towel because Sears Parts doesn't have a replacement 4" drawer in stock.

I found a thread on here in which someone switched out their deep drawers on a CM roller to multiple shorter drawers and I think it's a great idea. I'd like to replace the 6 and 10 inch drawers in my workbench setup with 4 - 3" and 1 - 4" drawers. Sears Parts has all but the 4". It's roughly about 22.5 wide and 16.5 deep.

Anywhere else I can look for compatible parts? I know it isn't cost effective but my stubbornness won't let this go. Haha.

I look at it as an upgrade anyways and don't really need a rolling cabinet. If I can make this work it'll be more than enough shelf space for now and I'll have a unique setup.

Thanks in advance.

Yes I've been searching and have a few message sent through OfferUp and FB but no replies yet. I've also measured boxes at different stores to see if any of those would fit but no luck.

what is the part number you are looking for? It might be a clue who made the chest.

A picture of your workbench would help. Waterloo made some of the Craftsman tool chests and cabinets. Look on Google Images. See if Waterloo made a workbench that looks like your workbench.

If Waterloo made the workbench for Sears, call them (Waterloo Industries @ 800-833-4405) and see if they have the drawers you're looking for.

Sorry for the delayed reply I need to check the notification settings.

Here is a pic of the drawers, model # 706101390. I'm aware the gray drawers aren't available but the 4" model # is 26675A3-EGE. Even in black I found a different model # 18195A6-DB5 and still no availability through Sears.

Is this the 5-drawer module you have? The drawing shows the bottom drawer is 9" high not 10".

When replacing the two larger drawers with four 3" and one 4" high drawers, have you considered the amount of spacing required between the drawers? You may find that the five new drawers you are buying do not fit in the space occupied by the two larger drawers you are replacing.

What I would do is buy five 3" drawers and make the spacing between the new configuration of eight drawers equal. This will give you some adjustability when installing the drawers.

That was me that swapped the drawers on a cman bottom box.

I bought the 40" bottom on a great deal but the drawers were all too deep for me wanting to use it to hold my measuring tools.
I was able to get a top box on a bargain/clearance something deal and swapped drawers on them.
I then gave the top box to my dad to use for general tool storage.
Worked out great
