Danher Tool Group has local plants in Springdale and Fayetteville, AR.

I've seen seconds wrenches at a few garage sales many years ago in Springdale, so some employees were allowed to purchase tools that were not okay'd for consumer sales.

I have a 22mm Easco wrench that was made in the Springdale plant, that a friend gave to me when I needed that size for an oz. sensor removal.

Ratchets were made in Gasdona, NC near Charlotte. They were at area fleemarkets, swap meets. I haven't seen many lately.

Isn't that Gastonia NC? The old Easco plant. The recent Charlotte Auto fair had very few Craftsman tools. There used to be many tables with new stuff but, it was rather bleak this year. There's a large distribution center for Apex tool Group in Apex, NC.

Domestically produced Craftsman tools are currently made by something like 30 to 40 different manufacturers under contract. That number might be dwingling as we speak. Danaher isn't the sole maker of Cman tools and never has been, they only make certain tools like sockets, most ratchets, and most wrenches.

These are a few of the current USA manufacturers for Cman

Western Forge
Klien
Lisle
Pratt Reed
Channellock
Midwest
Imperial
Empire
S-K (until very recently)
Stanely
Cooper
Apex/Danaher/Cooper
Vaughan

They don't make the tools, the contract out different companies listed above to make the sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers, etc. As the cost of manufacturing goes up in the US they weigh their options as to who to contract with. We won't know if they are shipping production of a certain item over seas until we see it on the shelves with the made in china on the packaging.

It's just a matter of time before it's all made overseas. Sadly!!!
