Bought my first drill press today. Craftsmans 150 #103-24511. Seems to be in decent shape. Jacobs Chuck. Someone wired a light and put a switch on the left side. Paid $150. Did I do alright? I have been skimming through the awesome thread on here already. What do y’all think?

I think that's a great deal! Speed reduction pulleys also! If the bearings are good and the chuck doesn't wobble around...........you did great! Clean it up and call it good. Not too keen on that big electrical box on the side, though. Mine had the vintage inline switch on the power cord. I replaced the power cord, cut a hole in the side of the head and installed a simple rocker switch.

Yeah, getting rid of the box on the side is on the to do list. The switch on yours looks real clean.

Looks like it's in good shape. I would hesitate to cut holes in it though... Maybe just move the switch to the motor mount?

First gen emerson was late 60's I think. You can look through the catalogs for design changes but they are not very accurate, just a general idea.
