I've had a Craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener for 14 years now (trouble free)

While the unit itself is still working just fine, one of my remotes has stopped working all together

Came with 2 remotes with 3 buttons, like this one:

While one remote works just fine, the 2nd remote doesn't work at all anymore (so that rules out having the lock on from the inside)

I thought maybe it was something as easy as a dead battery in the door opener and switched that out, but that didn't fix it (and yes, I made sure I had the battery in the correct way, LOL)

Ever had one stop before ?

Think it has to be re-programmed ?

and if I hit the re-program button, won't I have to reset both remotes ? :headscrat

TIA

Just press and release the green learn button, may be orange, then click the remote. If you hold the learn button down until the LED goes out then you've erased both. Just press and release the learn button. The LED will stay on and flash when your remote is learned.

I installed a Craftsman door opener 14 years ago. Wife used to park her car in there. Then I took over her space.
Walk in the man door, push button door opens, leave push button door closes. Finally I bought her a BRAND new car! Then I started wondering what ever happened to the remote that was on the Visor of her first car(couple of used cars ago)?
Are these replaceable after 14 years or do I need ot buy a new opener?

They still sell them. There are several different versions depending on your opener (rolling code, 315 mHz, etc.) IIRC they are about $40 ea at Sears.
