We all know that Craftsman tools will soon be all made in China and that many of us will still buy while others won't. What I don't understand is why they they moved the country of origin. Why couldn't they just keep the regular Craftsman made in the USA and leave the evolve brand for China?

Because the bulk of US consumers have such a love affair with cheap Chinese goods that they won't pay any more for quality US made goods.
Manufacturers would love to produce and market US made goods if there was any demand.

That and these companies first priority is now shareholders. They don't care if they produce anything other then a sales job here.

Also, manufacturers WANT to make stuff here? That's a joke right? Cooperation are all about money,point blank. When the demand goes, the quality goes or the company folds.

Homeowners only care about the cheapest tools they can buy. That's most of cmans/sears/Kmart's business. When profits weren't good, cheaper production came. Now everyone's bitching.
This started 2010-11.
Even the pro grade seems to be going away.

Anyway just going blah blah because we have dug the corpse of this horse out of the ground so many times it's not even funny. It's starting to smell really bad every time someone else gets another fist in...
I mean if some of us started a new thread daily about how overpriced and unethical Snap On was their would be hell to pay I am pretty sure.
A company that is just trying to survive outsources some stuff and keeps a bunch of their stuff made in the US is the Antichrist.
Sears is in the red, you expect them to do nothing? That did oh so well for SK you know as I can see by the old plant here in Defiance, 2 blocks from my house rotting away into nothingness.

Actually, as stated above, it's the shareholers and bottom line that are driving the COO bus.
The fact we in the USA want "cheap" does not help that.
And also the fact that actual tool "users" are not what they used to be nor does anyone anymore want to get their hands dirty.

This, companies produce what the masses want to purchase at the price they want to purchase it at. Something has to give and be certain that they won't be going down in their profit margin.

You don't really think they will stay in business another 2 or 3 years at their current failure speed?
Cheapest maker and the chrome plating drive the COO....which is no longer the USofA.
Consumers only want the cheapest, regardless of perceived need or quality.
Get used to it, as it is already bad, and will get worse as time and the economy march onwards and downwards, respectively.
