A guy at work used HF wrenches and says he has for a few years think there V8 or somthing like that. Anyways they seem to work pretty good iv used them a time or two. Really the only downfall is there not that long but somtimes that can be good too. Btw come on guys enuf with the sears **** who cares what there doing or where there going.

Good luck with getting some to give up the bashing.
Not bashing, just for information and not really on the OPs original question, BUT, I have noticed that HF combination wrenches and long pattern combos are made in India, along with the combos at Tractor Supply company. I haven't compared the ones at Northern,yet.I haven't really felt the need for long patterns yet, but I have been looking at them.

If you are not a heavy wrencher, the HF is a low cost options. But they do bend and the open end will spread faster then other long patterns. It is a softer steel. But at 1/8 the price of a higher end set. For the occasional user, it make sense for them. There is a market segment for HF, Craftsman, and Snap On, each meets the need of different users.

So far what has been determined from a usage stand point, is the open head end of the wrench has more steel around the head. This may cause some issues concerning clearance in tight areas. It is also theorized that the extra steel around the head may be manufactured into the wrench because inferior stay may be used.
One set of that was checked with a micrometer has a wider open end head above what is considered industry standard.
So as of yet there are no long term durability reports nor even short term durability reports.
Any thing else that I may be missing?
