I was running parts this afternoon and spotted a Fisher Norris Eagle anvil this afternoon on Craigslist. It was only a couple of miles from the house so I had to give it a shot (anvils have a shelf life of about 15 minutes on craigslist around here). Turned out to be a very nice postwar 80 pounder from the grand daughter of the original owner. Still has most of the original paint and sticker on it. Another reason to get rid of the chinese vise that I have been beating on for the last 5 years. For more history on Fisher anvils please visit http://www.anvilfire.com/21centbs/anvils/fisher-norris.php .

Oh, Dammit! I was out of town today replacing a kitchen faucet for my elderly parents, or I might have beat you to that one! Might have. Oh well... you have it right, the Austin CL seems to have an unnatural demand for anvils.

He was military and getting transferred so I paid the asking price, $1.25 a pound. Not a killer deal but it is worth it to me considering I was actually starting to think about buying a horror fright chinese cast one. Not the heaviest thing that I have gotten this month either, these two girls weigh almost 22,000 pounds between them and their accessories.

YOU ****!!! I have never seen one with original paint and the original sticker. Not even in pictures! For a hundred bucks? I bet that if you shop that around on the blacksmith sites you can make a pretty penny *and* get a good user in trade! I wouldn't use that one, you might ruin the sticker.

No forklift yet (one is on the list though), I bought those two Okumas. One is a 1996 and the other a 97, both 4020s with 4th axis. I have been running the **** out of a Sharp 2412 (it ran for over 10 hours today alone) and had the opportunity to pickup the Okumas at a good price. Both run and are in good shape, I hope to get them online this week and start making more parts.
