I'm not sure if there's already a similar thread or not (did a quick search and didn't see anything), but I thought it might be helpful to list any Craigslist deals we see so other members can score. If it's a dumb idea, let me know. lol

Already happens here every day. The guy who sees your post and buys it will thank you. That other GJ guy who was already dickering for it at a lower offer won't be so grateful.

GJ is pretty open about listing auctions and craigslist. Not everyone agrees. Over on OWWM, there is an absolute prohibition against posting open sales and auctions.

That's a very good point. I was thinking about helping other members find good deals, and didn't think of the possibility of ruining that deal for one hat had already seen it.

Yeah, that Lyon looks like an absolute steal for someone.

We could accept a GJ etiquette that says if someone replies to a good deal post saying they're very interested in an item, the rest of us are hands off. Just saying it's not worth ******* a fellow GJ member off over a vise or a box.

What do you all think of this?
I'd be leery of doing business with anyone who uses his toolbox upside down and sideways. You get strange wear patterns on the drawer slides.

I prefer that people find there own stuff....and keep quiet about it.
But, I'm a curmudgeon.

I agree. (Well, MAYBE for a vise) :bounce:

On the other hand, if it's on CL, it's not exactly a big secret.

I'm sure I'm far from the only one here who checks the tools section 5 times a day or more for 150 miles around.

I have a Lyon box just like that.

Its a nice chest.

Was about a grand new in 1990 or so.

I think the small drawers are slide and all the others are ball bearing.
