Probably about a POUND of bondo removed from everything, just nasty... once that bondo bakes on and then the paint over spray dries and bakes, it does NOT come off :/

Ok, built my feet for the compressor:

Started install of the Drain, Used some 1/4" Pipe that I got from McMaster Carr and a Surplus Store online. All in about $20-25 as i opted for a full port valve vs a chinese knock off, sure either would work but only a few bucks more and i feel better

Installed street elbow and a 6" ******, directed towards the FRONT of the compressor

Installed a 1/4" ball valve with a street elbow directed downwards on the end of the ******

next was to install the plumbing for the discharge out of the tank to connect to the regulator/ filter. Original owner tapped out of the regulator which is a 1/4" port. I opted to go out the side where the connection is 1/2"

I came out with a ******, 45 elbow, ******, 90 elbow to direct down, ******, then into a 1/2" ball valve. all in about $20 because of the valve also a full port as NOT to restrict flow. Ordered from McMaster Carr and Surplus when i ordered above.

Mounted the NEW regulator SW from Condor, installed the Safety Valve, Pressure Gauge, and a Plug in the spare port. Used a 2" Long 1/4" ****** to mount the Press SW to the tank.

Also mounted the Compressor & Motor

Installed the Tube from the Aftercooler to the Tank

Also connected the Unloader Valve

wired up the motor, soldered on NEW connectors

All ready for power and testing

Will install the Guard once I pressure test and cycle it a few times. Still need to run power from the panel and hook it up.

well dropped in a 30amp breaker and then ran some 10/2 to a junction box, then a whip from the box to the compressor

wired the ship into the pressure switch

double checked all the wires, fittings, etc... and then powered it up

yes, i filled it with oil as well !!

first power up I had the valves open... then closed them and pressurized to 50psi and did a leak check. All was good !!

ran to full pressure, 135 PSI and it cut off as it was supposed to. let it sit for a few, and noticed that it was dropping pressure, 130, 125, 120 and then sat there.

so i pressured back up to 135 and checked for leaks. sure enough a leak b/t a ****** and an elbow on the output. tightened it down and still leaks.

i suspect a bad ******, as it leaked in the same spot both times. no matter what angle the elbow was at, same spot leak.

need to remove the fittings, clean them up and replace the ******. probably the elbow as well.

got it all re plumbed and seems to hold pressure, had to be that ****** !!

cleared out the corner and prepared to get the reg set up

Called around to get a custom lead in hose, min 150PSI pressure rating, 36" long, 1/2"MNPT on one end, 3/8" MNPT on the other end to go from ball valve on tank to the regulator. then a 12" 3/8" hose to go from regulator to manifold block. The manifold I oreder from Grainger, just a simple 3/8" inlet with 1/4" outlets. wanted to put on 2 female couplers just in case i need a second air line. very nice quality.

one place quoted me $45 for the lines. second place i called said $10 for hte 36" and then $5 for the 12" so they got the job. very nice hoses, all parker fitting and hose.

i mounted a board on the wall so i can mount the FRL (Regulator) and Manifold)

also threw up to hooks i got from my recent trip to Harbor Freight, will hold hoses.

threw up my Flexilla, My GO TO Hose, then threw up the **** Black Hose that came with my old portable compressor.

All up and ready to go:

i am waiting for my 2 female couplers to come in, Northern did not have what i needed when i went out there. so ordered 2 and some spare couplers & plugs just n case. I went with Milton V-Style Hi Flow !! see how they go. I am putting them on the manifold and my Flexilla, it is a 3/8" hose

This gives me 2 connections for Air IF needed.

Also changed out the old fittings on my Flexilla to the V-Style. this will give me max air since this is my GO TO hose

8 years out, what condition are the McMaster Rubber anti vibration mounts in and how are they holding up? Would you do it the same way if you had to do it all over again? I have a Quincy 60 gal that needs to be moved and will most likely benefit from something like these.

They are in Great Shape, and i would do them the same way based on how they are holding up. I use my compressor, and not just for blowing up tires and dust blowing. I run the air tools and the benchtop blast cabinet. it does not walk around or dance at all.

Thanks for your response. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. Looks like I'm about to set up will call for Monday morning. M-C is 25 minutes from my shop. I'm in the midst of reorganizing the paint area in my shop. The Quincy has got to relocate, otherwise I'll get the Bondo Blues.

This compressor powers several air tools and gives Z axis air assist to my two large Series II NC Bridgeports (think of a regular Bridgeport on steroids-6400 Lbs each).

not a problem... funny thing it my buddy has the 80g version and had his sitting on layered cardboard to protect floor and absorb vibration. he saw what i did and then did the same to his, he has been happy as well and looks a lot cleaner

nice to hear that 8 years later it is still humming along. I bought one that was similar caked on the air filter, from a wood shop. Unfortunately, the struggling caused damage to the motor although I found a NOS one exact part number someone was dumping out of their stock so it was an easy fix.

I use two filters after 50' of hose so the air cools, then a small plastic filter to catch the few droplets left. Some folks make a cooler with copper line and soak it in a 5-gallon bucket full of cold water when they paint.

he was asking about the feet

but in regards to moisture, there is NO moisture removal from the system. compressor creates HOT air then cools and condensates in the tank and the air line. i use moisture filters at the gun when i spray. I also use the filter at the connection to my blast cabinet, if not then the media clumps up from the moisture.
