I was browsing my other favorite website over the 4th of July and found some steel carts with casters on craiglist... He had a number of them listed, so i thought it was worth it to go and check out....
So I hook up the little trailer behind the BMW and take that to work with me.... I call him at work and we arrange to meet right after work.
I get there and look over the cart he has. The one I really liked he has just pulled it out to the woods. So we hop in his truck and drive out over the hills and trail to his woods. I decide right there I want that one, so we hook it to the back of his truck and drag it back. He had to stand on the hitch to keep it from unhooking will I drove slow.... (that's the light yellow cart on the bottom)
Back at the barn, I take a second look at the other carts. I'm trying to figure out if I can use them all and what the wife will say when I get home....
I decide to purchase all five carts.....
2 carts at $20
1 cart at $30
1 cart at $60
and one at $75 that was brand new and had a Ropack box.
that tally's up to $205, so I ask him what his quantity discount was.... He and his wife look at each other and say, how's $20 sound?
Yup, $185 will definitely work for me....
He also had a concrete mag float and a steel trowel that I bought for $15
the the whole load for a nice even $200.....
Then we had to load everything up onto my trailer.....
Interesting fact: these carts were used at the Harley Davidson factory in York, PA.
