The guy has a ton of stuff, if you go to CL los angeles and in the main search type in OBNOSIS, all of his ads will pop up. He was a nice guy. He does not want people coming to his home so he had me meet him at the arco in his neighborhood in Glendale, it was kind of like a drug deal meeting someone at a dark gas station at night in a hood that i do not know, So i brought my protection with me. 45 pounds of tanatious cattle dog. He would tear you a new one if you looked at me wrong.

I've bought tools a couple times from a meet me in the blank parking lot type guys, always left me with the feeling I am buying stolen goods. Impression I got was that no people were getting robbed, just some big company tended to lose track of tools. Not enough to make me walk away once I was already there, but enough not to do it again.

Half price on used Snapon is about the most I am willing to pay for something I really want, usually for common items I won't go over 25%.

Nice looking dog, as long as he likes you. ;)

blue heelers are smart. My 11 year old daughter taught our 3yr old female heeler to read in about 5mins. Dog biscuit under a open book, then the dog will follow the text looking for biscuit. Very funny to watch!!

I was not worried that these tools were stolen, i spoke with the guy regarding the kind of mechanic he was and his reason for selling the tools. Besides , he had receipts for everything and he grease under his fingernails. He was very maticulous about his tools and you get an impression of someone when you first meet them. I believe he was a honest hard working guy that may be effected by the economy just like the rest of us.
Cheers

How does he fit in your shoulder holster?

Here in Myjammi, we just carry these...a lot easier than carrying a dog... :)

They want you to meet in the parking lot / public place so you don't shoot them and rob their house and take their wife and daughter as slaves...generally a good idea.

I'M not into bringing the old 1911 with me, not on the legal side here in the city of lost angels. And the dog goes everywhere with me, he keeps me company and thinks my jokes are funny. he gets to sit up front, the rest of you are in the back.

Unfortunately, that scenario happened recently (Los Angeles/Sacramento?) where a woman called about some jewelry for sale. She showed up and when the seller opened the door, he was rushed by 2 ~ 3 bad guys. All were apprehended, but the homeowner is DOA, shot/killed in front of his family. :(

Oh, that's right...you're in the People's Republik of Kalifornia, where the populace cannot be trusted with concealed weapons. Sorry.

I keep one on my hip and one in the truck at all times.

Here's a map of states where you ARE treated like a citizen, not a criminal:

Is it legal to carry where you are? Serious no no here. Next best thing, my own personal well trained, loyal heeler.

Yes, we can carry anything we (legally) own (with permit). No limitations on caliber, number of guns, etc. You can also carry loaded inside your vehicle without a permit.

That shot gun would even be illegal to posses in this state, barrel must be at least 18 1/4 " long. Like you said, peoples republic. I dont think anyone outside of retired law enforcement can get a ccw in the state of mexifornia.
Sorry for getting of track

While it's "technically" legal to own a Serbu Super Shorty in California (it's manufactured as a short-barreled shotgun, not sawed-off) with a $5 AOW stamp, the chances of finding a sheriff or judge to sign off on your ATF Form 4 is most likely slim/none. Sheriff here has no problem with it.

Yes, we have gotten off-track. Sorry for the hi-jack.

thread-drift first: if you can't get a CLEO to sign off a Form1, form an llc or trust. don't even need prints or pic for that.

on topic: i don't let freecycle or craigslist people on my property. I have a church nearby with a big parking lot and do everything i can there.

But that only lets you own it, not carry it. And, if the weapon is specifically banned in Calif. (which I'm sure the Serbu is), you can't bring it into the state regardless of ownership.

Living in the area, i don't let many people come to my house to pick up items either. When i am buying, i find a portion that want to meet at other places, and some that are dumb enough to leave the garage wide open and be no where in sight when you pull up. People are damn shady, and you just never know if they are just there for a good deal, or they are making a shopping list for later.

sounds like a decent deal you got BTW.

Nice haul dude.

I disagree your dog could be more loyal than my Dachshund, but I am CERTAIN your dog must be more intelligent...

looks like they closed this guys thread, I just want to say he is legit, you can contact him from his cl ad in los angeles. I purchased items from him and happy with my purchase. All you guys thinking someone selling tools on craigslist has had to have stolen them is your problem, This is a forum of adults that are responsible enough to make there own decisions. The guy has receipts, what more do you want. If you dont want to get a deal on some quality tools that most of us would not purchase off a dealer truck then don't, but dont infect the rest of the forums with your nosey old lady next door attitude. Times are tuff, just like everyone, you want to get a good deal on some quality tools, and this guy would like to sell some due to the economy being in the toilet and business is not what it was a few years ago.
My 2 cents.
