In my area, decent craigslist finds are few and far between... Junk is often listed for way too much, and anything top quality like Snap-On sellers seem to ask ridiculously high prices for...
But I did manage to scrape together a decent purchase today.
Found a Workmate 425 today. Like new, $40. Seemed like a good deal. My old workmate is on its last legs and I just didn't want to spend $100+ on a new one.
She said she was getting ready to have a garage sale, stuff from her fathers estate. Nothing great, but I did manage to pick up a few keepers.
Total investment? $40 for the workmate, another $40 for everything else...

- Workmate 425
- Milwaukee magnum holeshooter 1/2" drill. Works great!
- Dewalt 14.4V cordless drill, charger, batteries, case. Drill works great, batteries are on their last legs...
- Ryobi 1-3/4HP VS plunge router. Like new... Never owned a router before, and not sure if I'll ever use it. Don't work with wood very often.
- Craftsman metric raised panel wrench set.
- Some cheap Japanese punches. Hey, at least they aren't made in China!
- Another vice-grip.
- Old USA chisel
- Mystery Snap-On box. Unfortunately, empty. And no SO to be found in any of the tool piles anywhere. Somebody must have picked through the hand tools before they ever made it to their current location.
- Couple of new extension cords, 50' 12 gauge, 25' 14 gauge.
- Bucket boss for a milk crate.
Total investment? $40 for the workmate, another $40 for everything else...
